Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da
Universal Music Group/ Vagrant Records
Rammstein is back after a four-year hiatus with their sixth studio album Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da, which begs the question: It took four years to make this?
The songs sound exactly like everything else they’ve done from the Gothic-metal opener “Rammlied” to the closing “Roter Sand.”
They still have their minds on sex for a good portion of the record especially on tracks “Wiener Blut” and the first single, aptly titled “P*ssy.”
In fact, the video for that single is probably the only redeeming feature of the whole record and it takes an act of Congress to find it. Directed by Grammy Award-winning Jonas Akerlund (Madonna’s “Ray of Light,” Pink’s “Sober,” and “Telephone” by Beyoncé and Lady Gaga among dozens of others), the band literally stars in a four-minute porno. They have sex with porn stars and you see it all, literally. That’s why it takes forever to find it. Trust me.
Maybe it’s because I don’t understand German, but the music all sounds the same to me. From when I first heard Sehnsucht to Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da, the music sounds the same. I would think that after a decade, they would at least expand their sound. But for now, they just sound content to stagnate in their same metal-ish sound and middle school topics.
