Canuck Cabaret

Canuck Cabaret

Bundle of Joy

Orange Venue, 2010 Orlando International Fringe Festival</strong>

There’s a decadence to getting up on a Sunday morning and watching a stripper chase a guy around stage with a whip. That’s one of the many highlights of “Canuck Cabaret”, hosted by Paul Hutcheson. We all know that main exports from Canada are nickel, timber, and comedians, and Hutchison is part of this year’s North of the Boarder. The Canuck Cabaret” invites fellow artists to perform including Rob Gee who recites some poetry including “World’s Worst Chat Up Line” and “Let Me Be Your Football” in a Scots accent thick enough to slice a haggis at three meters. Miss Prairie Fire (Sharon Nowlan) does here whip act, a fan dance, and contributes to the educational portion of the show. That’s where we learn interesting facts including the unofficial motto of Regina, Saskatchewan – “it’s not the hole you think it is.” After a patriotic briefing on health care and marijuana laws we watch Waxie Moon from “XXXplicit” strip and moon us while wearing handcuffs. It’s fun, its International and the beer is pretty good.
