Connected: An Interactive Experience

Canvas Creative and Uncover the Color – Orlando, FL</strong>

While a bit New Age, “Connected” is a fun and relaxing hour and while I didn’t bond with my inner self, I had fun throwing rolls of crepe paper at the other ticket holders. We all had individual ear buds, soft electronic music played through them as we settled in. After an elaborate sound check, we were introduced to “The Guide” a comforting if rather Orwellian voice that gave us instructions. Between modern dance segments in a nearly dark space, we wrote down things that had offended us in our youth, watched as an electrostatic generator lit fluorescent tubes, and flashed lights at each other when bad memories came up. I’ve done some of these exercises in other shows, but a point is made – were all somehow connected, and the things that warped you and I are not unique but part of a larger shared experience. Or as my mother would tell me: “Get over it.”
