I Married a Nun

I Married a Nun

D’Yan Forest

Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival – Patron’s Room</strong>

The only other person I know of who married a nun was Martin Luther, and that was a few centuries ago. Elfin Ms. Forest weaves her fascinating personal and professional lives together with both charm and heart. After splitting with her husband in the 80’s she connected with a defrocked nun and spent 25 idyllic years traveling the world only to have that relation fall apart as well. Professionally, she was a cabaret singer from New York City who moved to Paris and passed herself off as French, and even as she sings and tells tales her accent wavers between Parisian French and New York City class. While her ukulele paying is a big attraction, there’s a suitcase full of props including one of the most impressive LED’s (Light Emitting Dildos) I’ve seen. Come for the music, stay for the swing club rankings, and enjoy the kinky nun anecdotes – if you’re going to see just one one woman show, this is the one to pick.
