Wow. Brandon Roberts got a promotion! He’s no longer the lost soul everyman sad sack, but an angle of some minor clout, possible a platoon leader in the battlefield of love. The lovable yet incompetent understudy is now Terrence Yip; he’s the angel with good intention and the negative performance review. He and all the other angels are on guard, making the word safe for love. They’re assigned to Mr. Blue and Miss Pink who ought to be in love but things keep getting in the way. As school kids, he’s the sappy puppy love guy, she’s the mean ice queen. Later they become the flustered middle age, middle class commuting class, now Angel Yip advances his training and flexes his magic muscle: the couple begins as a positive pair but his miss places spells, turn them into divorce bait, and finally when Angel Brandon and the other pros come in to show how it done the Pink/Blue couple turns into a of the Populuxe fantasy about how sexy life will be in the future. Like all PB&J shows, this is an explosion of mime and motions, no lyrics are needed to convey the elemental emotions and you have to love the overstuffed diapers and drive-in movie gags. Fun for the family and you’ll see something of yourself everywhere you look.

This commentary was based on a technical rehearsal.

This production is part of the 2014 Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. Information on tickets and show times may be found at http://OrlandoFringe.org/
