Welcome to the educational part of the Fringe. Every year at least one show works to make you a smarter, better theatre lover; this year we study BSDM 101 (3 credits plus a 2 hour lab). Instructor Love Slave (Wenglewick) runs a theater, has two children and owns a sex dungeon so she knows a thing or two about the subject. The presentation is factual, personal, and illustrated with charts that really ought to be PowerPoint slides complete with sparkly transitions. What do we learn? “Safe, Sane and Consensual” as well as the edgier “Risk Aware Consensual Kink.” It’s like styles of Kung Fu but with more equipment. And after the safety briefing, the action kicks in as Love Slave talks about her life, family and challenges in life and sex. It’s not just theoretical any more, as she reflects on her life and its adversities Master Penguin from local dungeon “The Woodshed” applies an intimidating whip to her with what I take to be a high degree of skill. Love Slave’s demons are exorcised for now, and we are now qualified to dis “50 Shades of Grey.” Tag this one controversial and Extra X’y Adult, and if you find this interesting be prepared to buy a LOT of stuff that you can’t find at Wal-Mart.

This show was part of the 2015 Orlando Fringe Festival. Information on tickets and times may be found at www.OrlandoFringe.org.
