Nick Paul: Impossible Feats of Magic

Nick Paul: Impossible Feats of Magic

Bronze Venue

Orlando Fringe Festival

Loch Haven Park, Orlando, FL</strong>

This commentary is based on a technical rehearsal

Anyone can pull a rabbit out of a hat, but can they break and restore a balloon poodle? Nick Paul is one of those clean cut magicians that works mute; you have to figure out which card to pick and when to shuffle and how to stand really straight, but it does add an element of human interest to the pseudo-supernatural . He started by wrestling a helium balloon into submission, then got a volunteer to fart coins and then shows you how to reveal a card trick with a leaf blower. Protip: don’t dress in arboreal drag for this show. With no discernible misfires and audio that’s a bit too loud, Mr. Paul is entertaining and fresh. Try to bring a kid or other small person; Mr. Paul may need to tear it into small pieces and reassemble them somewhere else on stage. Good clean fun, and more laughs than Fox News.

This show was part of the 2015 Orlando Fringe Festival. Information on tickets and times may be found at www.OrlandoFringe.org.
