Tim and Spencer’s: Magicians Must Die

Tim and Spencer’s: Magicians Must Die

Tim + Spencer Productions

Purple Venue

Orlando Fringe Festival

Loch Haven Park, Orlando, FL</strong>

This show had its flaws, but the death penalty seems excessive. Tim and Spencer are in a pact with the devil to win a sexy green fiddle. Satan lost the solid gold one back in the 1970’s now the boys need to out-magic his sulfurousness. They bicker like an old married couple as they try to win the fiddle along with superiority to David Copperfield. The performance relies audience interaction: we pick cards, announcer our favorite colors, and sign currency that get torn up and restored. Their patter is pleasant if a bit confused; Tim seems to have genuinely misplaced a pad of paper and other small props on their cluttered stage. The effects are underwhelming, and without getting too specific here’s a tip: if you want to learn the trade sit on the very ends and you’ll pick up more than a few magic moves.

This show was part of the 2015 Orlando Fringe Festival. Information on tickets and times may be found at www.OrlandoFringe.org.
