This, by far, is the geekiest show going. If you’re looking for leather and whips, move right along, the rack here holds Scrabble tiles. Ted (Moughan) runs a dying scrabble club; they meet in a basement and hope for new blood. In wanders Sam (McElroy) and his son Noah (Robert Cunha). Sam was a world champ until he got banned form tournament play. How you do that is complicated, but not as complicated as the playing strategies carefully explained with a clever animation. You, can, in fact, acquire new and useful knowledge at this festival. But evil is a foot, other clubs are closing down and it’s all due to the evil Pomeroy (Davis) who has plans to take over the Scrabble world. It’s sort of like conquering Andorra; the results aren’t impressive but there are bragging rights. There’s even some sex involved; everyone’s ex-girlfriend Victoria (Gretchen Wynegar) flirts with plot points in here cougar tights and low-cut top. I’d give this show a double word score, and put the “Q” on a triple letter score.
