Flyjack

New Day

Bean Pie Records

Flyjack is a hot roadhouse soul band from Austin, Texas. They are hot players who have studied their sources and throw down a good groove with hot guitar licks, greasy organ solos and wailing blues harp. It’s music for drinking, dancing and carousing. It’s all good stuff as long as you’re not paying too close attention. Repeated plays reveal that parts are greater than the whole. For all their instrumental prowess, the songs just aren’t that strong and it becomes a game of spot the source. Given time and stronger writing, Flyjack may live up to their playing.
