Outlaw King

Outlaw King

starring Chris Pine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh

Netflix

I started watching this, haven’t finished, but have seen enough to take some written jabs. Starring Chris Pine and his two eyebrows, this historical drama has a big budget and a lot of brutal battle scenes and great Scottish scenery to show for it. Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be much depth to the film; I feel more engaged by the slow unrolling of complicated British history than by any of the characters or their performances, and the fact that I haven’t seen Outlaw King to its end and I can’t guarantee that I will is a good barometer.
