Mogul Mowgli

directed by Bassam Tariq

starring Riz Ahmed, Anjana Vasan, Aiysha Hart

Pulse Films

Rap music made it all the way to Pakistan, and Zed (Riz Ahmed ) makes his mark on the New York scene. He’s been asked to open for another risng act, but he takes a week off to visit his estranged familiy. A mysteruoius disaease strikes him, and hiw he can barely walk. His familiy engulfs him even as they disaprove of his trade. Torn between the new and the old, the prospect of death or perhaps recovery, he’s in a bind with no exit. Karachi to London is a long way, but New York and acceptance are even more of a distance. Ahmed is sympathetic and his bluster is just that: an armour of noise against a noisey world that doesn’t care if he lives or dies.
