The Monolith Sessions
Jeremy Ivey’s latest album, The Monolith Sessions, contains a live performance of 5 songs pulled from his studio album Waiting Out The Storm, released in early 2020. The live album was recorded at the 5 spot in Nashville and along with the video, available on Jeremys YouTube page, is a wonderful companion piece to the studio album. Jeremy says “The 5 Spot is a special place to me for a lot of reasons…This is a picture of what we sounded like in the fall of 2020”.
The 5 songs featured on The Monolith Sessions are “Someone Else’s Problem”, “Movies”, “Things Couldn’t Get Much Worse”, “Paradise Alley”, and “Loser Town”. Jeremy’s wife and longtime bandmate, Margo Price, not only lends her vocals to the 3 middle tracks on The Monolith Sessions” but also produced and co-wrote the parent album, Waiting out the Storm. I always find Jeremy’s lyrics a thought provoking view into the world around us and of those themes and lyrics, Jeremy says “Some of these songs are about things that are current but they could also be true 30 years from now”.
Both albums are available now as digital downloads through Jeremys band camp page and can be heard on all streaming services. You can grab Waiting Out The Storm in vinyl or cd format through Jeremy’s website and various online retailers. Keep an eye on his page to see what’s next and where he will be appearing live.
