When you hate mom, dad, school, life, and even K-pop, there’s little in life to live for beyond self-mutilation and suicide. But young teen misfit Sammy (Cech) meets Margot (Perlman) and her magical bunny rabbit. Margot specializes in kid’s magic; the illusions are simple but the audience always has fun. This is the touchstone Sammy needs to do something other than homemade tattoos. Sammy still burns with anger, but she also sees a secret society that interests her in Margo’s magician friends and their weekly closed meeting. This gives Sammy a focus, and she gradually re-integrates with her family after her first onstage routine wins over the audience and her parents. Sammy’s anger still burns, but the asbestos pads of a seasoned entertainer cool Sammy and forge her into a useful and self-confident woman.
