Wild Men

Wild Men

directed by Thomas Daneeskov

starring Rasmus Bjerg, Zaki Youssef

What should a man do when his life turns grey? Quitting a day job to live in the wilds of Norway is not a good start, but Martin (Bjerg) does just that, and he doesn’t even leave his wife a note. He robs a Minimart for snacks and beer, thus setting the three-man local constabulary on his tail. Meanwhile, a car full of drug runners hits a moose, leaving two people dead and Musa (Youssef) with a serious cut on his leg. Martin sews him up with no infection evident in the rest of the movie, so there is hope. This is a dark, dark comedy of errors as the men lose their food, self respect, and sense of direction. It’s never a “Ha-Ha” comedy, but the scenery is thrilling, and there’s plenty of engaging humor and gun fighting. Pack your pemmican, it’s a long hike.

This film was presented as part of the 2022 Florida Film Festival.
