DXM

Dreadnought Guitar

C. F. Martin & Co.

The DXM ($599) is the first in a series of patented new acoustic guitar designs, the bodies of which are constructed with high pressure laminated materials. With ever dwindling wood resources, the DXM provides an alternative to guitars constructed with more traditional tonewoods. Tonally, the DXM has surprising volume and projection while retaining the warmth and resonance for which Martin instruments have always been prized.

Options for the DXM include a hardshell case and an electronics package. Martin gives each original owner a lifetime limited warranty. Martin Guitar dealers are beginning to take orders immediately due to the expected heavy demand for the instrument, although the DXM won’t be found in stores until the Fall of 1998. C. F. Martin & Co, 510 Sycamore St., P.O. Box 329, Nazareth, PA 18064-0329; http://www.mguitar.com/
