High Rise

Live

Squealer

Hallelujah! More High Rise! So, Lemmy of Mötörhead commented recently that High Rise needed more structure, they weren’t focused. Man, they are focused – focused but gooood. However, their tack is improv heavy rock, and technically they are proficient, but they play out. The Blue Cheer comparison is quick and accurate, so let it stand. But Live is much more than fuzzed-out boogie blues. Like their studio efforts, High Rise allow spontaneity to outweigh the expectations of long hairs and critics, taking that fuzzed-out boogie blues thang to wherever they get. Live feedback is sweet. Oh yeah, this was recorded in the mid-80s. Two song titles are “Outside Gentiles” and “Pop Sicle.”
