Tami Hart

No Light in August

Mr. Lady

With Tami Hart, Mr. Lady’s reputation for presenting interesting music from strong, independent women remains well intact. Tami Hart may be the most easily accessible artist on the label, with a style that owes as much to Seventies pop as it does to Riot Grrrl. Although Hart really never rocks out, she’s hardly a wallflower. Her songs have plenty of raw emotion and strength, so she doesn’t need to scream to be heard. Even though she’s a mere lass of eighteen, Hart is already a veteran of three bands and possesses songwriting skills, both musically and lyrically, far beyond her years. The captivating hooks in a song like “Drunken Love Song” are quite impressive. So ring up another winner for Mr. Lady Records and keep an ear out for Tami Hart.
