Ultraspank

Progress

Sony/Epic

“Push,” “Crumble,” “Stuck,” “Feed,” “Smile,” “Click,” “Crack,” “Thanks,” “Left,” “Where.” Words of wisdom? Uhh… not really, but they are the titles of most of the tracks on Ultraspank’s newest release. Following suit with most vocally hardcore bands, the single word song titles and the creepy artwork are mere icing on the proverbial cake that these five guys have baked. The lyrics scream about darkness, things growing inside, emptiness, apathy, and delusion. Maybe it’s no walk in the park to understand, but I would suggest it for burning off anger and frustration during the holiday season. Just do your dear family a favor and leave it at home when you go for dinner, as Bach, this is not.
