Blaze

Do You Remember House [12”]

Slip n’ Slide

In anticipation of their forthcoming album, Spiritually Speaking, New Jersey’s own Blaze go way back into their 15-year career to produce a real retro burner. With atavistic lyrics by Palmer Brown, they extol all that was great about late ’80s house with real new jack loops and box-fade funk. It’s a real good time for those old enough to remember what the hell Brown and Blaze are talking about. Azzido Da Bass’ “Deep Acid” remix bangs with techish hyperbole with hints of deep synths. And Bob Sinclair goes pre-historic with his peace-love-and-soul piano-penetrated disco remix. And who said electronic handclaps were dead?!
