The Sound of the Crowd

When a Lyon meets a lion coming through the rye

This is a lengthy but worthwhile interview with political columnist Gene Lyons about Wesley Clark. As the beginning of the interview mentions, Lyons co-wrote one of the best books about the fact that why yes, there was a right-wing conspiracy against Bill & Hillary. But anyway, this interview is as about the unappetizing (for Bush supporters) prospect of a side-by-side comparision between Bush and Clark. This guy knows the dirty tricks that wing of the Republican party is capable of better than most of us, and he thinks Clark can handle it. Certainly I’d like to see Clark spank Bush hard, but that wee voice in the back of my head keeps piping up about no previously held elected office, which this interview doesn’t address.
