The Hollywood writers weigh in…
…with the Writers Guild Of America Awards for best adapted and original screenplays. “American Splendor” won for best adaptation, which as I noted below I have no problem with, though I would have had even less wrong if it had tied with Lord of the Rings. “Lost in Translation” won for best original, and though I like that film, my sense of it as a script is that the performances and direction were more assured.
