According to this item, fans of Angel have raised $15,000 for running a full page ad in Hollywood Reporter on March 9th, running a full page ad in Variety, and buying two billboards.
On a completely unrelated matter, fans of the Willow/Tara relationship raised over $8,000 for charity (specifically, a national crisis hotline for gay, lesbian and questioning youth) two years ago. Those same fans have been accused by some of whining about unfair treatment and “the lesbian cliche”–but they never spent $15,000 to whine in public about a TV series being cancelled.
It’s good to be on the side of the true angels sometimes, ain’t it?
