The Sound of the Crowd

Not that we’re not angry

Republican blogger Jeff Jarvis has become a favorite subject for batting practice on the left. Here Oliver Willis takes a few more swats. But I’m not linking to that because of Jarvis especially, but because of a broader point Willis makes:

“I won’t deny that Democrats are angry, but unlike Republicans who were angry that the President was getting something on the side and they weren’t, its an anger fully justified by the factual data at hand. To recap: the Republicans impeached my President, perpetrated a fraudulent election, cleared brush while terrorist threats gathered, misled my country into war, demonized all opponents to the war as anti-American, sent 1400+ of our finest to die, and ran a campaign based on smearing a decent man…[Democrats] see what the right is doing to our country, our nation, and the planet and if that doesn’t get a sensible human being angry in some way shape or form I’d have to question whether you’ve got blood or ice running through your veins.”
