The Sound of the Crowd

Watchman, we love you all

Filmforce has excerpts from an interview with the director of the forthcoming film of Watchmen. They make my heart sink for reasons that I’m not sure I can put my finger on.

Maybe it’s because he says:

“I believe in this film as a mainstream film.”

Or because he does a couple of things to the English language that I’m quite sure you’re not supposed to do. Anyway, I’ve maintained for years that it’s a bad idea to do Watchmen as a single, even three hour movie at all. I think the only way to do it justice would be an HBO miniseries.
