The Sound of the Crowd

A Different POV

Here’s Mark Evanier with some observations on attending premieres in general, and Frank Miller’s Sin City, in particular, about which he says:

“In a completely separate sense, I am really enjoying its success. Years ago, Jack Kirby told people – to generally deaf ears – that a good comic book was a storyboard for a great movie. “It’s all there on the page,” he said of many comics he did that he felt could and should be translated to the screen with little amendment.”

As I’ve said before, I don’t think I agree with this–but that doesn’t mean I’m going to say Mark Evanier (or Jack Kirby) are “wrong.” Go see what else he has to say.
