Custom Made Scare

The Greatest Show on Dirt

Side 1

Truck driving redneck cowboy punk rock. Yee-haw! Oh it’s nothin’ but punk rock down cowboy style in the grand tradition of the Hickoids and Dash Rip Rock and all the rest. They sing about trucks (“Peterbilt”), incarceration vs. “Freedom” (“Wayside”), and trying to slack off in the late 1990s (“White and Lazy”). “Wake Up and Smell the Gunpowder,” while it rocks, should frighten a lot of folks, as it’s a “the south will rise again” kind of song. Looks to be in the third person, but gotta wonder about these good ole boys. “White Trash Girl” sings the glories of the slags from Tallahassee. Why they whine after the hoedown ho’s, I don’t know, there are plenty of nice ones at FSU, why bother with the locals? Next they sing about touring on “Texas Didn’t Wreck Us,” and it sounds like they’re having a great time suffering the debt-ridden life of punks on the road, still they have a lot of tattoos and those ain’t cheap…

It’s good for cowpunks and it’s twisted, too. Check ‘em out at their website, too, http://www.custommadescare.com.
