Boogie Nights

Music from the Original Motion Picture

Capitol

The film, ostensibly about the late ’70s porno industry, has yet to make its way to my conservative little town, but at least the disc has got me heating up my love oils. Featuring music from the era – disco, soul, odd ends – it works well to set the mood. It’s also nice to see a few tracks united for convenient one-stop purchase: “Spill The Wine” by War and Eric Burdon, “Jungle Fever” by Chakachas, and Melanie’s “Brand New Key.” The only annoying thing here is Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian.” I guess even the best skin flicks need to have their portion of uninspired dialog.
