Who Bombed Judi Bari?

Alternative Tentacles

To summarize, Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney were car-bombed in May of 1990. The FBI claimed that Bari and Cherney, both Earth First! activists, set the bomb off themselves, the bomb being merely one of several frightening weapons these ecological terrorists had. Lawsuits against the FBI ensued, and the case is still today not resolved. A favorable decision in favor of Judi Bari was recently obtained, shortly before Bari’s death. Fortunately, the case (whose resolution has frightening implications for the FBI) is proceeding in spite of Bari’s absence.

This record compiles several speeches and appearances made by Bari, along with four folk songs. Bari is an eloquent and charismatic speaker, and even if you’re against the sort of radical personal involvement in environmentalism that Earth First! practices, you can’t help but to come away from this record a bit scared of the forces behind circumstances as this. This is a thinking record, one that you should listen to only if you’re willing to understand what Bari is saying. Alternative Tentacles, P.O. Box 419092, San Francisco, CA 94141
