The Merrills

The Merrills

Q

If I had to pick one word and one word only to describe the Merrills, it would be “majestic.” Building guitar cathedrals might have gone out of style, but that doesn’t deny the artistry the Merrills posses at layering tones and coming up with distinctive melodies, rhythms and harmonies. On top of it all is a distinctive and instantly recognizable male voice that hits the high notes sideways. I’d rather have oral surgery while listening to this than be subjected to another poorly photocopied Hootie. O, you lucky Atlantans, to have the Merrills in your home turf! Catch them while you can.
