PowerStation Series
Mixing Consoles
Spirit by Soundcraft
Soundcraft has found great success with its Spirit line of mixing consoles. The continued success of the product line was expanded with the introduction of the PowerStation line of powered mixers. Recently, Spirit has added a new price/performance range to the Powerstation line with the release of the PowerStation 350 ($1,099.95), 600 ($1,499.95) and 1200 ($1,999.95). Like all Soundcraft/Spirit consoles, the PowerStations are manufactured overseas in the U.K.
The PowerStation 350 offers a 175-watt per channel power amplifier (into 4 ohms) and six mono mic/line inputs. The 600 offers 300 watts per side and offers two additional mic/line inputs, and the the top-of-the-line PowerStation 1200 boasts a 600 per channel amplifier section with 16 mic/line input channels. Each of the models in the line come standard with a specially designed Lexicon effects unit built in, including Chorus, Delay, and Reverb. Some improvements have also been made from the original PowerStation design including an additional auxilliary send (bringing the count up to three), a steeper 18 dB-per-octave High-Pass filter, and the addition of the high-performance UltraMic padless preamp.
