Live at Moe

Various Northwestern Bands

iMusic/World Domination

Now that the Great Northwestern Feeding Frenzy is history, the denizens of the cold and wet northwest can go back to their insular ways, developing individual styles and genres that fail to follow any common, popular templates. This compilation showcases live performances by several bands, some famed, some full of so-called “indie cred,” and some up-and-comers. The disc is quite varied and worthwhile. Highlights include Sycophant’s hilariously self-referential “Pop Song,” hyperLung’s “There Is A Very Real Problem With All Radio In Seattle Right Now,” and Critters Buggin’ millennial fusion on “Sheets.” The whole thing is bookended by a couple of Presidents of the USA tracks (“Feather Plucking” and a cover of Soundgarden’s “Spoonman”).
