Ghoti Hook

Banana Man

Tooth & Nail

Want to be hip? Pronounce the name of this band properly, viz: “Gh” as in “enouGh,” “oti” as in “motion.” Got it? Then say “Fish Hook” when you talk about this band!

I believe there’s quite a “buzz” going about Ghoti Hook, and it’s not undeserved: they play good, guitar-based 1990’s punk rock. It appears to me as well, that most of their songs are really, really stupid. And they’ve included photos of the band molesting bananas. If that doesn’t spell punk, I don’t know what does!

The focus of their songs is on stupidity (title song, “My Bike,” “The Box,” “At the Zoo”), but every know and then they manage to throw in some deep meaningful nonsense like “Love by the Numbers” and “Running Away.” Definitely worth checking out.
