Hecate Enthroned

Upon Promeatheau Shores (Unscriptured Waters)

Death

Evil o’plenty on this creepy death metal album from England’s Hecate Enthroned. Totally appropriate and evil name for a band, too. I perceive the emphasis is on practicing witchcraft for various nasty purposes, including eating people’s dreams.

Musically, it’s all about darkness, weird keyboards mixed with incantations in some forgotten language, spell chanted in strange places, etc. I think they can breath fire, if I am to believe the band’s photographs.

If you are into Satanism as a hobby, Hecate Enthroned is a good band for your listening pleasure. The album includes evil-tinged songs like “The Crimson Thorns,” “An ode for a haunted wood” (my favorite on the record), and “Through Spellbinding Branches.”
