Spundae

This is by far the absolute best continuous mix CD to cross my desk in months. Our boy Jerry meticulously programmed this awe-inspiring set and comes off sounding louder than his love of progressive house. In eleven tracks he takes us up and down and then up again on this exquisite musical voyage. Every time I hear it I get so high off the energy that I feel as though I am dancing on the moon.

There is nothing bad to say other than “What? You don’t have this steel-bolted into your discplayer?” If you need some info here’s some names that may entice you. Yum Yum’s latest single “The Vision,” Niagra’s “Cloudburst,” Armin’s “Blue Fear,” and Inspirazione’s “Psalm.” If that wasn’t enough the program winds down with pivotal moments by Friends, Lovers and Family (“Tribute’97”), Malcom McLaren (“The Bell Song”), and Palefield Mountain’s epiphany entitled “PM3.” Jerry closes the disc with dignity mixing the mighty Paul Van Dyk’s epic “Words.” Fans of the Renaissance and Northern Exposure series can finally pay domestic prices for a music that up until recently has been largely ignored by rock culture. Mandatory listening for all who are not old and in the way of progress. Great music from great minds.
