The Ziggens

Pamona Lisa

Skunk

Long time So. Cal favorites The Ziggens have finally hit the rest of the country square between the eyes with their first full-length effort on the ultra hip Skunk label. Dare I call them the next big thing from the left coast surf scene?!?

The Zigs bring a lot of talent, fun, and refreshing musical styles into this debut. They execute true “surf music” with great skill. Whether it be an Endless Summer style on “Surfin You Say” or a Ventures-inspired “Can’t we All Get a Longboard?” & “Goin’ Richter,” The Ziggens hit with the beauty of a groundswell with offshore winds. There is also a rockabilly sound present intertwined with punk. Tongue-in-cheek songs like “The Waitress Song” and “I Took My Mom to the Prom” keep you ever-mindful these guys are enjoying the ride. The cool thing is they have a wealth of talent that allows them to mix it up without being “categorized,” or say “Blow Me” without fear of being dismissed as untalented punks. Not a bad place to be!
