The Road to the Western Lands

Triloka/Mercury

Strange how William S. Burroughs’ dry cracking drawl continues to pour forth after his death, like radio waves receding into infinity long past the time Earth is a cinder. This collection of remixes from luminaries like Bill Laswell, Talvin Singh, and Spring Heel Jack (UK) is layered with Burroughs’ textbook intonations – if you get bored with the electronic tomfoolery, you can learn about some pretty interesting concepts. The mixture of digital dub and exotic lecturing will not work for everyone, but it suits me fine.
