On the One by Sick Bees is one of the more intriguing records I’ve heard lately. Mixing riot grrrl sensibilities with grinding guitar noise sprinkled with bits of electronica and a serious lacking of pretension, they create a wonderful sound. Don’t be scared off by reading noise in the review. This is not some arduous task just to make it through the record. Sick Bees are essentially a pop band with intelligent lyrics and very creative arrangements.
