The Broadways

The Broadways

Asian Man

I know there’s an ex-Slapstick element involved here, and I’m pretty dern sure it’s the old Slapstick vocalist, or else one of the people who sings in the Broadways has taken singing lessons from him. Slapstick aside, this is catchy pop-punk with socially conscious lyrics. This reminds me of Fifteen, mostly because of the lyrics and music, but also because I had a hard time getting past the vocal style in Fifteen when I first listened, and a similar thing has happened here. It takes a few listens to get used to it. Good songs, though. Asian Man Records, P.O. Box 35585, Monte Sereno, CA 95030-5585; http://www.asianmanrecords.com
