Triple Dare

Issue #1: Tom Hart, James Kochalka, Jon Lewis

Alternative Press

A triptych of comic stories, all three titled “A Frequent Contributor,” and that’s about all they have in common. Hart’s piece deals with the exotic culinary demands of a ghost and its pet cat, Kochalka gives us reason to smoke, and Lewis tells the sad story of perverse dating techniques and their just reward. There are no deep philosophical statements to interpret, only existential ones, and only if you go for that sort of stuff. Otherwise, it’s three pretty interesting short stories, and as Superstar Kochalka states in his introduction, “this comic book exists because we don’t punch each other in the arm.” Weird and wonderful.
