World Without Dogs

Sugar Fix

This is an interesting mix of music and spoken word. Rich Ferguson (credited with “rantchant,” among other things) shows plenty of talent as he weaves a complicated tapestry of the ordinary and the surreal – “Quiet Ride” is the tale of a man who shoots the mayor for messin’ with his wife, and then escapes on his Toro Variable Speed Quiet Ride mower, strewing a green swath of chopped grass on his flight across town. The musical backing is liquid and often sounds like a movie score. An interesting hour or so.
