Beats and Breaks From The Flower Patch

Kindercore

I love record titles that describe the records so concisely. The beats and breaks are here, funky and well-chosen. The flower patch yields sampled delights straight from the thrift bins in the form of soft strums and quiet flutes and such. Add sweet, well-sung female vocals with depth and character and you’ve got songs worth repeated attention. Ultimately, this lies in the realm of sweet indie pop, but I can only hope that it gets passed around, as I can imagine this having wide appeal, indeed. My favorite picks have to be “Mama’s Lamp,” for the cute kid sample, and “Alright,” just for its yearning feel and catchy chorus, but the album as a whole really is all good. My favorites change weekly.
