Walk a Lightyear Mile

Double*Play

Man, Dora*Flood loves Sloan, who loves Sgt. Pepper’s -era Beatles, who…The skinny of it is that Dora*Flood plays that brand of toked-up guitar-pop that sacrifices rocking-out for a hook, a harmony, or an organ drone, or any combination of the three – that is, if the bong hasn’t been cashed yet. Pretty slack-ass, to be sure, but such an aesthetic works to the band’s advantage, especially when the compositions sprawl out and get a little “trippy” (just like that cover, dude). Quite the sleeper of an album, Walk a Lightyear Mile doesn’t possess a whole lot to make most mouths water, but it’s sure to appease most appetites, which most albums can’t claim.
