I would be very surprised if these folks didn’t have well-worn copies of June of 44 and Shellac records somewhere in their collection, as they do fall in that vein. Guitar, bass, and drums utilizing enough tension, dissonance, and repetition to keep me interested. The vocals strain at times in that certain way I love. By no means the most groundbreaking record of all time, but they don’t all have to be. I like this. These five songs were recorded in November of 1997. I’d be interested to know if they are still together and how they’ve progressed in that time.
