Christal Methodists

Satanic Ritual Abuse

Kolazhnikov

The Christal Methodists nestle cut up and manipulated prank calls to Christian talk shows amongst electronic beats, noises, and playfulness, essentially disassembling the media and spitting it back in their face. It’s amusing, but knowing that they are prank calls, I keep waiting for the call to turn strange, and the formula gets a little tired. My favorite tracks on this are the ones which either reassemble the hosts’ words in a different manner than originally intended or have content that is disturbing enough without manipulation, such as “Raped, Can I Get A Witness.” This track finds the host putting the fault of the rape on the woman caller. Disturbing and messed up. Luckily this was caught on tape so we can all hear how backwards some of these people can be.

I enjoyed this in small doses. It’s much in the spirit of the Savage Vigilance For A Rug Free America CD that was floating around a few years ago, so much so that I wouldn’t be at all surprised if some of the same people were responsible. That CD still gets listened to every now and then, and I’m sure this one will, too.
