If It Weren’t For Venetian Blinds It Would Be Curtains For Us All

Big Wheel Recreation

Sometimes Friends Fight gave us the tough grit and energy, When Life Hands You Lemons… added more pop and Promise Ring and was a terrific hint at their potential, but Piebald’s third full-length is their most shining moment so far. I’ve liked all their records a lot, but wow, they’ve finally perfected the mix just right. Pop catchy and singalongable but raised in the schools of hardcore and rock. Melodies that stick along with clever lyrics that have me singing aloud the whole time it’s playing, and quite often when it’s not. Factor in the breaks and emo/hardcore foundation and you know why I’m rocking out in the car next to you or dancing around at the show. Hell yeah, dance party. Sweet.
