See You at the Railroads EP
Danish teens making sugary sweet electronic-infused new wave-ish indie-pop that unabashedly owes much to the sounds of the early ’80s (come on, a song entitled/about “New Romantic Sounds?”). You remember the ’80s, right? They’ve captured a lot of the sound and feel, including the occasional feeling of just plain cheeziness. And, as with ’80s music, there’s a guilty pleasure to this. I’m cringing at the same time as I’m smiling and dancing around. Thankfully this is a relatively small dose — four songs in under eighteen minutes — so it doesn’t hurt me too much to indulge, particularly in the title track.
