Jeff Greinke / Anisa Romero

Hana

First World

The ambiance contained on Jeff Greinke and Anisa Romero’s Hana is so tranquil that it’s almost stultifying, not unlike the delightfully erratic This Mortal Coil with an actual purpose. With Romero’s narcotically angelic vocals at the forefront, Greinke handles nearly every instrumental aspect (percussion, synthesizers, treatments, loops, etc.) on Hana , weaving meditative webs ambivalently suited for full-on bliss-out contemplation or new-age gossamer background music. Very pretty, indeed – increasingly difficult to say these days.
