The Letter E

EP

Tiger Style

A truly uplifting and beautiful CD that is nowhere near long enough. Four instrumentals crafted in talent, friendship, and a passion for making music. Similar at times to the lofty heights of Mogwai or the dynamics of Tristeza, the Letter E, a collaboration between members of Rex and June Of 44, holds rhythms that are completely their own. Managing to keep solid and steady while filling the room with a sense of weightlessness. Some mellow jazz licks licking up the spills of sorrow. Scratching at the heels of precious guitar whisperings and weavings. Delicate to a fault, I find no fault at all. The bass moves through a syncopated swimming pool, and you want to sing along, though there are no words. Close your eyes, drift along, make up your own.
