A Mile in Cold Water
Post something. I can never quite decide what. Post-hardcore? It’s not emo, though it’s on that edge. The thanks in the liner notes include bands like Piebald, Boy Sets Fire, and Cave-In, so that will give you some idea. The vocals harmonize at times, between the mellow freight train drive of bass and the crash that’s bound to come when the guitars kick in again. It’s clean, but not always nice. There’s the crying out vocals, telling of pain and dissatisfaction, the shifts from mountainous peaks to shadowed valleys in the speed and space of the notes, and the heart beat buzzsaw spin of the guitar. The lyrics read like sad poetry, and sound even sadder, but the music keeps you going back for more.
